Lena Eriksson
Lena Eriksson (* 1971 in Brig ) is a Swiss artist.
Life
After graduating from high school, Lena Eriksson attended the École cantonale des Beaux-Arts in Sierre and Sion . In 1998 she moved to Basel and started the artist living project the Lodge with Vera Bourgeois and Andrea Saemann and also with Andrea Saemann the guest studio in the Werkraum Warteck pp . Lena Eriksson's work is reflected in drawing, video, installations, performance and concepts - she herself calls her work "polymorphic". She founded the Galerie Helga Broll with Chris Regn and Lex Vögtli, was part of the performance group GABI and from 2004 to 2009 she ran the art space Lodypop in Basel with Andrea Saemann and Chris Regn , where she founded the KAP copy font with Nicole Boillat. She repeatedly works with artist friends, also for the Monday 2 Monday project , where she has corresponded every Monday with the Indian artist Varsha Nair via video, photo or drawing since 2011 .
Lena Eriksson regularly creates illustrations for various media, e.g. B. for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) . From 2010 to 2016 she was the curator, author and co-editor of the magazine Neuland . Since 2016 she has been teaching the Fine Arts Masters course at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences .
