Ludwig Baur (politician)

Ludwig Baur (born January 28, 1828 in Lindenfels , † February 10, 1893 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian civil servant and politician and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Ludwig Baur was the son of the district forester Ludwig Friedrich Baur and his wife Caroline Philippine nee Schmitt. Friedrich Wilhelm Baur and Gustav Adolph Ludwig Baur are among his 12 siblings . On June 25, 1857, Ludwig Baur, who was a Protestant, married Louise Wilhelmine nee Kraus.

During his studies he became a member of the Cattia Gießen fraternity in the winter semester of 1846/47 . Ludwig Baur embarked on a career as a civil servant and in 1862 was chief tax secretary at the coin deputation, in 1865 a member and councilor of the chief tax office and in 1876 took over the management of tax control and calculation. In 1879 he was lecturing councilor in the Ministry of Finance, in 1880 the Secret Supreme Tax Council and in 1886 Ministerialrat in the Ministry of Finance, Tax Department. From 1881 to 1887 he was a member of the Central Office for State Statistics, and from 1881 to 1890 a member of the Fire Insurance Commission.

In the 23rd to 25th electoral term (1878–1887) Ludwig Baur was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates he represented the constituency of Starkenburg 13 / Griesheim .
