Karl Heinlein

Karl Heinlein (born April 25, 1892 , † May 2, 1960 in Vienna ) was an Austrian national soccer player and coach.

career

The offensive player won the Austrian soccer championship 1914/15 with the Vienna AC on the side of Johann Studnicka and Richard Kohn . In the 1917/18 season he finished third in the scorers list with 13 hits and with the eleven from WAC place he reached third place in the championship in 1918/19.

He played two international matches for Austria in 1917 and 1919 . He made his debut on December 26, 1917 in the international match in Zurich against Switzerland in the national team. WAC club mate Johann Studnicka was also in action in the 3-2 defeat. His second international match took place on April 6, 1919 in Budapest under Hugo Meisl against Hungary . Heinlein stormed alongside Josef Uridil , but the hosts prevailed with their offensive stars György Orth and Alfréd Schaffer with 2-1 goals.

"Carlos" Heinlein's trainer stations included CE Europe in Barcelona , Hakoah Vienna and then from 1929 to 1931 Holstein Kiel (he had brought his nickname from his time in Spain). He then signed with FSV Frankfurt . He later worked at Hassia Bingen and then at FC Luzern , Wacker Vienna and (from May 1936) FC Nancy , among others .

Heinlein was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery .
