Karl Heinrich Friauf

Karl Heinrich Friauf (born July 31, 1931 in Treysa ; † February 3, 2016 in Meersburg on Lake Constance ) was a German constitutional lawyer.

Life

Friauf came from an old Hessian family and studied classical philology , history and law at the Philipps University in Marburg . In 1953 he was reciprocated in the Corps Guestphalia Marburg . When he was inactive , he moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . After taking his first state law examination, he earned a Master of Laws (LL. M.) from Harvard Law School in 1957 . During his legal clerkship in 1959 in Marburg he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD. After passing the second state examination in law, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Marburg from 1960, where he completed his habilitation in 1965. In the winter semester of 1966 he followed the call of the University of Cologne to her chair for constitutional, administrative, financial and tax law, where he was director of the Institute for Constitutional Law until his retirement. His research extended to the financial law , the tax law , management science, constitutional law and administrative law. He was married and had three children.
