Karl Heinrich Ludwig Brinckmann

Karl Heinrich Ludwig Brinckmann , also Carl Heinrich Ludwig Brinckmann or Karl Hinrich Ludwig Brinckmann (* 1809 in Hamburg , † May 26, 1855 in Heidelberg ) was a German law scholar and university professor .

Brinckmann was the grandson of the forester Johann Ludewig Engelhard Brinckmann . Little is known about Brinckmann's training. He initially worked for many years as a lawyer in his hometown of Hamburg, where he also founded his family, and turned back to science in the mid-19th century. In 1846 he qualified as a professor for trade, exchange and maritime law at the University of Heidelberg . There he worked as a private lecturer until his death .

The Hamburg museum director Justus Brinckmann was his son.

From 1853 on, Brinckmann was co-editor of the Critical Journal for the whole of jurisprudence , published in Heidelberg , to which he himself made contributions.
