Karl Heinz Gierenstein

Karl Heinz Gierenstein (born September 4, 1920 in Engers ; † April 19, 2002 in Ingolstadt ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and graduating from high school greed Stone took from 1940 to 1945 as a soldier of the Air Force on World War II in part, most recently as a lieutenant. During the war he was used in a combat squadron. He survived a plane crash over the Mediterranean Sea and was captured at the end of the war.

He then joined the Ingolstadt administration. Since 1951 he worked as a civil servant in various municipal offices, most recently as an administrative officer. From 1970 to 1980 he was the treasurer of the German Atlantic Society .

Political party

Gierenstein joined the CSU in 1953, joined the Junge Union (JU) and was chairman of the Ingolstadt JU district association from 1955 to 1960.

Gierenstein was a council member for the city ​​of Ingolstadt from 1956 to 1965 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1980. He represented the constituency of Ingolstadt in parliament.
