Karl Hermann Kraus

Karl Hermann Kraus (born August 21, 1941 in Darmstadt ; † March 6, 1997 ibid) was a German painter , graphic artist and object artist .

Life

After completing an apprenticeship as a machine fitter, Karl Hermann Kraus attended the State Drawing Academy in Hanau in 1966 . From 1970 to 1975 he studied with Rudolf Haegele at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . In 1971 he became a member of the “New Darmstadt Secession” and in 1974 a member of the “Group Seven”.

The artist's work is determined by three themes: man and the technological world, the combination of calligraphy and computer drawing and the so-called shaman's pictures .

In 1978 the color film Calligraphy Computer was made .
