Karl Inama von Sternegg (born October 30, 1871 in Innsbruck-Wilten ; † May 30, 1931 in Innsbruck ), the first son of Theodor Inama von Sternegg , was an Austrian genealogist and heraldist and director of the Ferdinandeum Museum in Innsbruck.

Life

Karl Inama von Sternegg comes from the Inama family , whose roots lie in the Non Valley ( Welschtirol ). After attending the Schottengymnasium and studying law in Vienna and Munich, he worked in the political administration of Tyrol from 1871, initially in the district administration of Cles (Welschtirol). There he took the opportunity to research the history of his family from the Nonsberg .

From 1907 until his retirement in 1923 he was a councilor in Innsbruck. His great interest in history and auxiliary sciences, which existed from his youth, led to many valuable articles in newspapers and magazines as well as part-time support campaigns for homeland security, monument preservation and country team organizations.

From 1923 to 1931, Inama managed the Ferdinandeum Museum in Innsbruck with skill through difficult times of financial hardship, smoothed out disputes with the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum and, in addition to the new presentation of the rich collection, brought about the structural expansion of the museum's west wing.
