Karl Jurka (born September 14, 1952 in Vienna ) has been a strategic policy advisor in Vienna, Berlin and Paris since 1990 . Between 1980 and 1990 he was election campaign manager and federal organizer of the ÖVP . He is a regular visiting professor for political communication in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Great Britain as well as a lecturer at Quadriga University in Berlin .

Life

academic career

In 1976, Karl Jurka completed the service examination for the higher legal service of the Republic of Austria at the Federal Administration Academy. 1977 doctorate he became Doctor juris at the University of Vienna . In 2006 he was awarded the professional title of professor . Since then he has given numerous lectures and regularly takes part in discussion events.

Jurka is a lecturer at Quadriga University Berlin and lecturer at the Foreign Service Academy of the German Foreign Office for Public Diplomacy, Lobbying and Political Communication. He has been a seminar leader for the European People's Party (EPP) for over a decade . He publishes articles on public diplomacy , political communication and lobbying in various specialist journals . He gives guest lectures in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Great Britain.

Professional background

Between 1975 and 1979 Jurka was deputy head of the presidential department of the Federal Office for Metrology and Surveying . Then he headed the Political Academy of the ÖVP . Between 1980 and 1990 he was election campaign manager and federal organizer of the ÖVP. In 1990 Jurka founded a company whose main focus is on pan-European policy advice. He has always worked as a political advisor and freelance lobbyist.

Others

Jurka has been a member of the Catholic student association KÖHV Sängerschaft Waltharia Wien in the ÖCV since 1973 . In addition, he has been a board member of the Austrian-German Country Forum (OeDLF) since 2019.
