Karl Keller (pastor)

Johann Karl Gerhard Keller (born September 18, 1798 in Orsoy ; † July 10, 1873 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) was a Protestant pastor and parliamentarian.

Life

Keller studied Protestant theology at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . In 1819 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he was assistant preacher in Solingen . From 1825 to 1842 he was pastor at the Evangelical Church in Erkrath . In 1844 he moved to Mülheim an der Ruhr , where he was pastor until his death in 1873. From 1848 to 1854 he was also superintendent .

During the second legislative period, Keller sat for the Düsseldorf constituency from 1849 until his resignation on December 11, 1850 in the Prussian House of Representatives . In the first session he belonged to the parliamentary group of the center. His faction membership in the 2nd session is not recorded.
