Karl Kollmann (politician)

Karl Kollmann (born October 4, 1898 in Marchtrenk ; † September 10, 1989 ibid) was an Austrian farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). From 1955 to 1961 he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

Life and Political Work

Karl Kollmann was born the seventh of ten children to a farming couple in Marchtrenk. He attended compulsory school and then worked on his parents' farm. During the First World War , Kollmann served on the Italian front from 1916 to 1918. From 1929 to 1934 he was a member of the community's Kleinhäusler committee , then deputy farmer's union chairman until 1938 . During the Second World War , Kollmann was drafted into military service in the attack on Poland . After the end of the war, he was appointed to the political advisory board of the Wels district administration and elected vice mayor of the Marchtrenk community; the following year he became local farmer chairman. In addition, Kollmann was from 1946 to 1955 the farmers' union chairman of Marchtrenk and from 1955 to 1961 a member of the farmers' union state management and the state farmers' council. In 1955 he was elected to the Upper Austrian Landtag, from which he resigned in 1961. Furthermore, Kollmann was a member of the district chamber of farmers of Wels, a board member of the Wels dairy and the Raiffeisenkasse Marchtrenk. In 1967 he ended his work as vice mayor and local farmer chairman.

Kollmann had been married since 1928.
