Karl Ludloff

Karl Rudolf Ludloff (born June 7, 1864 in Gundersleben ; † September 26, 1945 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German orthopedist , surgeon and university professor .

Live and act

Karl Rudolf Ludloff was the eldest son of Friedrich Ludloff (* 1838) and Johanna Caroline Julie Klöppel (* 1840). He studied medicine in Jena, Würzburg, Munich and Strasbourg. In 1894 he completed his doctorate and went to Königsberg and Breslau as a senior physician . In 1900 he completed his habilitation in Königsberg.

In 1906 he was appointed honorary professor at the University Clinic in Breslau and there in 1913 as a full professor of orthopedics and head of the orthopedic department of the surgical university clinic in Breslau. From 1914 he was a professor in Frankfurt am Main. 1919 followed there the full professor for orthopedic surgery and director of the orthopedic clinic Friedrichsheim, which he held until 1930.

He was married to Margarete Litten (* 1877), a sister of Fritz Litten , and had a son ( Hanfried (1899–1987)).

During his time in Breslau, Karl Ludloff was a frequent guest in the house of Karl Bonhoeffer's family . As Karl Bonhoeffer notes, a friendship had developed between the two men's sons.
