Karl Nieberle

Karl Nieberle (born January 1, 1877 in Blaubeuren , Württemberg; † January 12, 1946 in Pfullingen ) was a German veterinarian and university lecturer in Leipzig.

Life

Karl Nieberle was a full professor of animal pathology at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Leipzig from 1926 to 1944 , from 1931/32 and from 1934 to 1943 he was dean of the veterinary faculty. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . In 1934 he was elected to the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina . He wrote the standard work of animal pathology: Textbook of the special pathological anatomy of domestic animals . His work on combating tuberculosis in animals was groundbreaking . Of the 130 dissertations he wrote, 54 dealt with tuberculosis.

He was a member of the NSDAP and openly advocated a strict separation of political activities and studies. He was a member of the Corps Saxo-Thuringia in the Rudolstadt Senior Citizens' Convention.
