Karl Nietzki

Karl Nietzki (born February 8, 1813 in Langheim , † July 13, 1861 in Zinten ) was a German pastor and writer in East Prussia.

Life

Nietzki attended the Herzog-Albrechts-Schule (Rastenburg) . After graduating from high school, he studied Protestant theology at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In the winter semester 1835/36 he became a member of the Corps Masovia . Hubert Orłowski sees works like this as the "hour of birth of East Prussian literature". Nietzki became a pastor in Zinten, where he died at the age of 48. In his novel The Voice of the Fatherland , he recalls his corps.
