Karl Puls-Janssen

Karl Puls-Janssen (born August 23, 1955 in Aschendorf ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After attending elementary school in Rhede (Ems) , Karl Puls-Janssen attended a grammar school in Papenburg and finally passed his Abitur in Buldern . He did basic military service (1976–1977) and was only then recognized as a conscientious objector . At the University of Oldenburg he studied pedagogy in the diploma course. He then worked 1985–1986 in the Jemgum community as an ABM worker as a social worker and in youth care, after which he was unemployed. From January 1988 he was a pedagogical assistant at the Aurich German-Dutch home adult education center with a focus on social issues. He is married.

politics

Puls-Janssen has been active in youth work since 1971, so he was one of the co-founders of the Leer district youth association. From 1976 he was also involved in the environmental movement and in 1980 became a member of the Greens . He was a member of the council of the municipality of Rhauderfehn in 1986 and 1987. From June 21, 1990 to June 20, 1994 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (12th electoral period), since September 21, 1993 for the newly formed Alliance 90 / Die Greens . From June 21, 1990 to June 22, 1992, he took over the deputy chairmanship of the Greens parliamentary group, and from June 21, 1990 to June 20, 1994 he was secretary of the Lower Saxony parliament.
