Karl Rohr (Illustrator)

Karl Leonhard Heinrich Wilhelm Rohr (born June 26, 1891 in Augsburg ; † March 6, 1972 ) was a German architect , painter , caricaturist , author and illustrator of children's books .

Life

Karl Rohr, son of an interior designer , studied architecture in Karlsruhe . At first he became an interior designer like his father. He worked in Munich and was a member of the professional association of architects and civil engineers (BAB). He wrote and illustrated numerous children's books, mainly for the Schreiber-Verlag in Esslingen . He illustrated, among others, for the well-known author Albert Sixtus . His book "Teddy" has been translated into several languages, including Swedish and Croatian . He was also a cartoonist for the weekly Fliegende Blätter .
