Life

Sanders was influenced by metal from an early age . Among other things, he lived with members of Morbid Angel in a house in Tampa , Florida in the 1980s . There he was already collecting ideas, influenced by the death metal that was emerging at the time . Before founding Nile, he played with thrash metal bands in the late 1980s , including Morriah, and at concerts by the young Morbid Angel and other American death metal bands. In addition to his work with Nile, he played guitar solos as a guest guitarist in bands such as Behemoth and Ex Deo .

In 2004 the first album of his solo project was released, "Saurian Meditation", which contains Egyptian sounds that he could not have released on this scale with Nile. Nevertheless, the ideas for this come from working for Nile. The album was released on Relapse Records in October 2004. He then devoted himself again to Nile. On April 14, 2009, his second solo album, titled "Saurian Exorcisms", was released on The End Records. Sanders took over all the instruments on this work, including the Baglama Saz and the Glissentar . He was only supported in the chants by Mike Breazeale.

He writes the often mythological texts for Nile, as he has a preference for Syria and Egypt, although he has never been to these countries.

Karl Sanders has a son.
