Karl Schmitt (theologian)
Karl Schmitt (born August 31, 1903 in Gau-Bickelheim , † August 30, 1964 in Mittenwald ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and professor of practical theology .
Life
Michael von Faulhaber ordained him on July 6, 1932 in Munich as a priest. He studied at the University of Münster . After completing his doctorate on March 20, 1940 in Münster with the dissertation : "The doctrine of God in the Compendium theologicae veritatis of Hugo Ripelin of Strasbourg. A German theological terminology of the 14th century" he was full professor at the University of Mainz from 1946 to 1959 . In 1949 he founded the KDSt.V. Rhenania-Moguntia with.
