Karl Schubert (politician)

Karl Schubert (born April 3, 1905 in Eger , Austria-Hungary , † June 11, 1986 in Straubing ) was a German politician of the CSU .

Life

After attending the humanistic grammar school in Eger, Schubert studied education , philosophy , German , art history and theater studies at Charles University in Prague , received his doctorate and passed the teaching examination , which enabled him to teach at higher schools. He then worked in teacher and public education and in the library system until he took part in the Second World War and ended it as a severely disabled person. At the end of 1945 he participated in the founding of the CSU, where he was also a member of the state assembly and the state committee. In 1948 he moved into the Straubing City Council. From 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the first time , into which he entered via the Lower Bavaria constituency list . From 1951 to 1955 he sat on the state executive committee of the CSU, during which time he also chaired the Union of Expellees . From 1958 to 1966 he was again a member of the Bavarian state parliament. In 1958 he was directly elected in the constituency of Straubing-Stadt und -Land , in 1962 via the constituency list. For several years, Schubert held the position of senior studies director at the German Gymnasium in Straubing . In addition, he was a member of the main committee of refugees and expellees in Bavaria, the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft and the Bavarian Association of Philologists, and was the deputy state chairman of the Catholic Educational Community in Bavaria. During and after his time as a member of the state parliament, he was sent to the Bavarian State Court as a non-professional judge .
