Karl Schulte Kemminghausen

Karl Schulte Kemminghausen (born February 23, 1892 in Somborn , † November 29, 1964 in Münster ) was a German philologist and folklorist.

He completed his habilitation with the German studies specialist Arthur Huebner . Annette von Droste-Hülshoff was one of his main research areas .

In 1933 Schulte Kemminghausen joined the Nazi teachers' association and the SA , where he became Oberscharführer. In 1934 he was appointed professor at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . He was deputy chairman and managing director of the Annette von Droste Hülshoff Society. In 1937 he joined the NSDAP and soon after became a Gau expert advisor to the NSDAP Westphalia-North.

After the Second World War , Schulte Kemminghausen was relieved of his office, but was given back the chair in 1950, which he held until his death.
