Karl Sidler

Karl Georg Daniel Sidler (born May 13, 1875 in Sinsheim ; † August 6, 1930 there ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a businessman, Sidler studied law in Würzburg and Heidelberg after attending secondary school in Sinsheim and Mannheim grammar school . During his studies in 1895 he became a member of the Frankonia Heidelberg fraternity . After his exams he worked as a lawyer , first in Baden, then from 1906 to 1911 as a lawyer and imperial notary in Windhoek . From 1909 to 1911 he was a city ​​councilor in Swakopmund. In 1912 he returned to Sinsheim, where he became mayor in 1913 . From 1913 to 1917 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden State Parliament for the National Liberal Party . At the First World War, he took over as captain of the reserve at the foot artillery part.

Honors

For his service in the First World War he received the Iron Cross , 1st and 2nd class. The uniform elementary school built in Sinsheim in 1929 was named Sidlerschule in his honor .
