In the following years he worked as a teacher, first in Priegendorf , then in Birkenfeld . Between 1898 and 1908 Spiegel was a teacher in Untersambach . Most recently he taught in Unterleinach . In 1912 the collection of sagas and sketches from the Steigerwald was published together with Johann Ludwig Klarmann , and in 1914 his small collection of fairy tales from Bavaria was published as a “scientific supplement to the annual report of the Association for Bavarian Folklore and Dialect Research”.
