Karl Ståhl

Karl Vilhelm "Kalle" Ståhl (born August 2, 1973 in Alingsås ) is a former Swedish football player who played for AIK and GIF Sundsvall in a total of over a hundred games in the Allsvenskan .

Career

Ståhl played in his youth at the Gothenburg suburb Floda BoIF and during a year abroad in England in 1985/86 for the London suburb Barnes Eagles FC . About the youth team of Sundbybergs IK , where he played for a year, he came in 1990 in the youth department of AIK. There, the junior national player, who played seven selection games at the level of the Swedish U-18 and U-19 national teams, moved up to the professional squad during the 1992 championship season . Until his debut in the Allsvenskan, however, it was not until May of the following year when he came on as a substitute in the top division in the 2-1 away win at Örgryte IS at Gothenburg's Gamla Ullevi . By the end of the 1994 season , the defender played a total of eight championship games for AIK, where he was substituted on five times. He then joined the then second division club GIF Sundsvall, with whom he rose to the Allsvenskan in late 1999. There he was a regular player and helped the club to establish itself in the meantime in the Allsvenskan. By his departure at the end of the 2004 season , he had played in 104 first division games for the club from Västernorrlands län , scoring two goals. He then ended his career at FlodaBoIF and Kubikenborgs IF .

Ståhl's main job is as a clerk at Statens Pensionsverk , which administers the guaranteed pension . His brother Pär Ståhl played volleyball for Sollentuna VK in the highest Swedish league .
