Karl Umlauf

Karl Umlauf (born February 11, 1866 in Dresden , † November 28, 1945 in Hamburg ) was a German educationalist .

Professional background

After graduating from high school in Dresden-Neustadt in 1886 and completing military service (1886–1887), he studied mathematics and physics at the University of Leipzig from 1887 to 1892 . After graduation in 1891 Dr. phil. in Leipzig with Sophus Lie and Friedrich Engel he was from 1917 to 1931 school councilor of the elementary school system in Hamburg and from 1931 to 1933 honorary professor for educational science at the University of Hamburg .
