COVID-19 pandemic in Dominica

The COVID-19 pandemic occurs in Dominica since March 2020 as part of the global COVID-19 pandemic , which took place in December 2019 in China originated. The pandemic affects the novel disease COVID-19 . This is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the Coronaviridae group and belongs to the group of respiratory diseases . From March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the outbreak of the novel coronavirus as a global pandemic.

On March 22, 2020, the first COVID-19 disease was confirmed in Dominica. It was a man who had returned from the UK. This case first appeared in the WHO situation report on March 24, 2020.

As of April 23, 2020, the WHO confirmed 16 COVID-19 cases in Dominica.

On May 17, 2020, the Dominica government confirmed the recovery of the last infected. This makes the country one of the countries that has no active infection after confirmed infections.
