  4. a b The World Health Organization defines "COVID-19 deaths" as cases resulting from a clinically compatible disease, provided the patient was considered a probable or confirmed case. Exceptions are deaths with clearly identifiable alternative causes of death not related to COVID-19 (e.g. trauma ), as well as deaths after the meanwhile complete recovery of someone previously suffering from COVID-19.

Official statistics controversy

The WHO officially reported figures on infected individuals do not correspond to the actual values, according to Canadian researchers. While only 210 corona infections were officially reported on March 21, the researchers spoke of at least 6,000 infections a week beforehand. The Egyptian government apparatus around Abd al-Fattah as-Sisi is criticized for continuing to detain the more than 60,000 political prisoners in the country in overcrowded and poorly equipped prisons and thus risk outbreaks of disease in the prisons.
