The COVID-19 pandemic occurs in Gabon as part of the global COVID-19 pandemic . The infection is based on the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which appeared at the end of 2019 . The COVID-19 pandemic has spread worldwide since December 2019. From March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the outbreak of the novel coronavirus as a global pandemic .

On March 13, Gabon confirmed its first COVID-19 case.

As of Thursday, April 10, 2020, there are 34 confirmed corona cases and one deceased in Gabon.

Reactions and actions

The spread of the respiratory disease COVID-19 is also leading to increased entry controls, health checks and entry bans in Gabon. In addition, Gabon is canceling all tourist visas and the national borders are completely closed. International travel to and from Gabon was also discontinued. The government also bans gatherings of more than 50 people.

On April 7th, a South Korean woman was flown out on a special flight organized by the USA.

On April 10, South Korea exported 50,000 diagnostic kits for Covid-19 to Gabon.
