COVID-19 pandemic in Mongolia

The COVID-19 pandemic has been occurring in Mongolia since March 2020 as part of the global COVID-19 pandemic that started in China in December 2019. The pandemic affects the novel disease COVID-19 . This is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the Coronaviridae group and belongs to the group of respiratory diseases . From March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the outbreak of the novel coronavirus as a global pandemic.

The first COVID-19 case in Mongolia was confirmed on March 10, 2020. This case also first appeared in the WHO situation reports on March 10, 2020.

30 infections were known in mid-April 2020 and 42 in mid-May. Between May 13 and 18, the number rose to 140 infected people and then stagnated at this level.
