COVID-19 pandemic in the Central African Republic

The COVID-19 pandemic occurs in the Central African Republic since March 2020 as part of the global COVID-19 pandemic , which took place in December 2019 in China originated. The pandemic affects the novel disease COVID-19 . This is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the Coronaviridae group and belongs to the group of respiratory diseases . The government closed Bangui Airport for scheduled services; People arriving from countries affected by COVID-19 had to be quarantined for 21 days. Educational institutions were closed and gatherings of 15 people or more were banned.

As of April 5, 2020, the WHO had confirmed nine COVID-19 cases in the Central African Republic.
