COVID-19 pandemic in Myanmar

The COVID-19 pandemic occurs in Myanmar since March 2020 as part of the global COVID-19 pandemic , which took place in December 2019 in China originated. The pandemic affects the novel disease COVID-19 . This is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the Coronaviridae group and belongs to the group of respiratory diseases . From March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the outbreak of the novel coronavirus as a global pandemic.

On March 23, 2020, the first two COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Myanmar. In the WHO situation reports, these two cases first appeared on March 24, 2020.

There were 15 infected on April 1, 100 on April 17 and 200 on May 21. There were six deaths as of May 25, 2020. On July 4, 306 people were known to be infected.
