The COVID-19 pandemic is occurring as part of the global COVID-19 pandemic that began in China in December 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic affects the novel disease COVID-19 . On March 16, 2020, the state of emergency to avoid the COVID-19 pandemic was declared on Nauru and is limited to 30 days. Nauru Airlines only flies to Brisbane in Queensland , Australia, every two weeks ; there used to be two to three flights a week with around 50 people and flight crew. Ships are still docking in the port on Nauru, but the crews are not allowed to leave the ships and the cargo is being decontaminated.

Naurus President Lionel Aingimea assumes that there is no case of Covid-19 infection on Nauru.

According to the Foreign Office , the Ministry of Health in Nauru has issued entry bans for people who have been in certain countries in the last 14 days. a. all EU countries. A 14-day quarantine is imposed on all immigrants who are to be spent in accommodations designated by the Nauruan government .
