    The COVID-19 pandemic occurs in Kazakhstan since March 2020 as part of the global COVID-19 pandemic , which took place in December 2019 in China originated. The pandemic affects the novel disease COVID-19 . This is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the Coronaviridae group and belongs to the group of respiratory diseases . From March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the outbreak of the novel coronavirus as a global pandemic.

    On March 13, 2020, the first two COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Kazakhstan. These were travelers returning from Germany . The first six cases appeared in the WHO situation reports on March 15, 2020.

    As of April 9, 2020, the WHO confirmed 727 COVID-19 cases and seven deaths in Kazakhstan.

Since the situation is very dynamic, there may be discrepancies or delays between the cases of the WHO and the data of national authorities as well as the information provided by other bodies, such as the Johns Hopkins University (CSSE).
    2. In the WHO report no. 163 (pdf) from July 1, two changes were introduced. On the one hand, symptomatic and asymptomatic cases were registered from now on, and on the other hand, cases were added. This resulted in a doubling of the cases registered so far. The WHO report itself said the increase was 10,897. Since the previous day there were 21,819 infected people and now 41,065 cases, the number corresponding to the increase (+19,246) is given here.
