Peterlesboum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Peterlesboum were a Nuremberg dialect duo , consisting of Willi Handel (born April 7, 1930 in Nuremberg) and Karl Vogt (born May 18, 1926 in Erlangen ; † September 9, 1988 in Nuremberg).

In 1958 they appeared for the first time with their self-written Franconian texts to well-known hit melodies , at an event organized by the Buchnesia carnival company . Willi Handel had already gained stage experience with the post-war ensemble Junge Bühne , while Karl Vogt sang as tenor in the Pegnitz-Finken vocal quartet.

Their first appearance was so successful that the two were soon very well known. Radio and television appearances ensured that the Peterlesboum became something of a figurehead for Franconian humor. In 1963 they produced their first record, including the famous song Die Baa (based on the original The moon keeps its watch ). Over a period of 25 years they released around 300 hit parodies. Her numerous appearances at the Nuremberg fair were also legendary.

The duo came to an end in 1988 when Karl Vogt suddenly died. Willi Handel then largely withdrew into private life. However, his son Bernd Handel followed in his footsteps and is now a successful voice imitator and stage comedian. The Peterlesboum Revival Band has also existed since 1995 . Bernd Handel often appears together with the revival band.
