Volker Heißmann, born in Fürth in 1969, appeared on stage for the first time at the age of five. Before Volker Heißmann turned his comedic talent into his profession, he completed his school education at the Hans-Böckler-School in Fürth and then an apprenticeship as a hotel manager . Many appearances with his first partner Marcel Gasde made him known in Nuremberg and the Fürth area.

He has been working with Martin Rassau since 1990 . The cooperation began with joint stage appearances as early as 1983 when they were at school, and since 1991 with their own small stage, which was so successful that Heissmann and Rassau soon opened the Small Comedy Nuremberg at another location with 280 seats. In 1998 he and his colleagues Martin Rassau, Michael Urban and Marcel Gasde opened the Comedy Fürth in the Berolzheimerianum.

The best-known stage role of the two, the shrill widow couple " Waltraud and Mariechen ", has been an integral part of the show Fastnacht in Franconia in Veitshöchheim near Würzburg in Lower Franconia since 1997 . The two widows were also an integral part of the Musikantenstadl from 2006 to 2015 .

In 1998, Rassau and Heissmann turned the historically significant Berolzheimerianum , which was dilapidated at the time, in their home town of Fürth , into a larger theater with themed gastronomy, the Comödie Fürth .

With their Franconian regiolect and often coarse humor, the duo Heißmann and Rassau supply their audience and slip into roles that change frequently, but essentially remain the same. Hot man is regularly cast as a mentally not too active booby. A popular piece from her repertoire is Essn für ann , her Franconian version of Dinner for One (the Franconian title is also the almost literal translation). In the 2010/2011 season, he played the bailiff Frosch in the operetta Die Fledermaus at the Nuremberg State Theater . From 2011 to 2017 he was and still is regularly on the Nuremberg stage as Alfred P. Dolittle in the musical My Fair Lady . From 2013 to 2016 he played Leopold in the operetta Im Weißen Rössl . In the 2015/16 season he played the two crooks in Kiss me Kate with Martin Rassau . In September 2019 was the premiere of "The Merry Widow", which was brought to the stage of the Comedy Fürth as a jazz operetta with Heissmann and Rassau and the musician Thilo Wolf.

So far, the comedian duo Heissmann and Rassau dared to jump from the stage to the screen with their episode film 6 auf See , which they produced themselves in 2000.
