Franconian cube

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Franconian cube is considered to be the highest Franconian award for people of the typical Franconian class.

Founded in 1985 by the regional presidents of Middle , Upper and Lower Franconia , it has been awarded annually on November 11th - the name day of the Franconian saint Martin - over a goose meal by the regional presidents. The winners are called "dice".

The coveted porcelain cube shows the three coats of arms of the administrative districts and is awarded to people in whom the defining characteristics of the Franconian character are particularly clearly expressed: the agile, the funny and the contradictory, whereby wit also stands for inventiveness and ingenuity. The die also bears the inscription "Turn around, turn around, persist in life, this is how the Franconian rolled can be seen."

The award and winners are named after the essay Der Franke ist ein Dürfelter written by Hans Max von Aufseß in 1983 .
