Heinrich Giegold

Heinrich Giegold (born October 7, 1924 - † August 15, 2006 ) was a German journalist and publisher . For many years he was editor-in-chief and publisher of the Frankenpost in Hof .

Giegold joined the paper in 1951 as editor. As editor-in-chief, he made a name for himself with his editorials and comments far beyond the newspaper's circulation area. He later joined the management team and eventually also became editor. After reunification, new issues of the Frankenpost in Saxony and Thuringia were created under his leadership .

In addition to his journalistic work, Giegold also worked as a book author. In his works he dedicated himself in particular to the common cultural tradition of Bavaria and the Czech Republic.

For his services he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class and the Bavarian Order of Merit.
