Erich Rappl
Erich Rappl (born June 14, 1925 in Bayreuth ; † June 16, 2008 ibid) was a German musicologist, journalist, author and city councilor of Bayreuth.
Erich Rappl grew up in Bayreuth and got to know the works of Richard Wagner in his childhood . He studied music in Munich and was called upon by the Richard Wagner Association at a young age to give introductory lectures during the Bayreuth Festival . Rappl was editor and local manager of the North Bavarian Courier for many years , he was the author of numerous books (mostly satires ) about the Franks, about Wagner and about the "Leit von Bareith" as well as many articles for programs and the Bayreuth Festival news. As an author, he sometimes used the pseudonym Wafner in his satires . In 1979/1980 he was awarded the culture prize of the Upper Franconian economy .
