Waltraud and Mariechen are fictional stage characters of the comedian and cabaret duo Volker Heissmann and Martin Rassau .

history

In 1991, Heissmann and Rassau listened to elderly women talking in a café. These observations led to the “birth” of the ever blasphemous widow couple Waltraud and Mariechen . The pensioners were nationally known in 1997 with her appearance in the Prunksitzung carnival in Franconia in Lower Franconia Veitshöchheim . From 2006 to 2015, the two widows were also part of the Musikantenstadl .

Characters

Waltraud Lehneis , played by Martin Rassau, and Mariechen Bezold , played by Volker Heißmann, are genuine Franconians . With coarse humor in Franconian regiolect , they do not mince their words and, in their proximity to the people, are usually closer to faecal humor than to subtle sense. While Mariechen plays the shaky and mostly stupid naive, Waltraud is arrogant and presents herself as a woman of the world.

Waltraud and Mariechen mostly play on the home stage in the Comödie Fürth , for example with the program Allmächdnaa die Franken . Hotmann and Rassau also present these characters in guest appearances throughout the German-speaking region.

Radio appearances

From 2001 to 2003 the radio station Antenne Bayern produced over 250 episodes with Waltraud and Mariechen under the title Blouss dasd wos sagsd ("Just that you were saying"). Since 2006, the series can be heard on Bayerischer Rundfunk on Bayern 1 .
