Karl Wilhelm Altheim

Karl Wilhelm Altheim (born October 19, 1899 in Darmstadt ; † September 1, 1961 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a chief accountant and nephew of Wilhelm Altheim , Karl Wilhelm Altheim studied law and political science in Gießen after attending the Realgymnasium and the New Gymnasium in Darmstadt . During his studies in 1919 he became a member of the Alemannia Gießen fraternity . In 1924 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . After his exams in 1925 he worked as a laborer for a lawyer in Offenbach and was then a court assessor and public prosecutor in Offenbach until 1927 . In 1927 he joined the municipal service in Frankfurt as a municipal lawyer, where he was magistrate and in 1945 full-time alderman , in 1946 second mayor and then mayor . From 1950 he was deputy department head for economic development and in 1954 he became a magistrate and city ​​councilor as well as department head for health administration , the transport and economic department and business development. He was also a member of the German Association of Cities , where he was involved in several committees.
