For Brown, Boveri & Cie. Karl Wilhelm Ochs designed mainly industrial buildings. In the 1950s, buildings were built for the Technical Universities of Berlin and Dresden. Mention should be made here of the Barkhausen building in Dresden and the buildings of the Berlin Institute for General Electrical Engineering and Lighting Technology and the Institute for Electrical Machines, all of which are listed . Regarding the work of Karl Wilhelm Ochs, Hermann Heckmann , who was his scientific assistant in Dresden, said: "There was nothing sensational about his buildings, but they are masterpieces of simplicity and have outlasted fashion" . Later, especially in the 1960s, Ochs worked for the Evangelical Church. In addition to building churches and parish houses, he designed numerous conversions of existing buildings of the Evangelical Church.
