Karl von Westhoven

Karl von Westhoven (born March 24, 1832 in Ahaus ; † December 24, 1920 in Münster ) was a German consistorial president in the province of Westphalia .

Life

Karl von Westhoven studied law as the son of the married couple Ernst von Westhoven and his wife Charlotte von Westhoven, née von Basse . When he passed the first state examination in law in 1854 he was appointed court trainee, and was sworn in as an auscultator on September 27, 1856 . In 1867 he worked as a district judge in Dortmund, from 1873 to 1880 he was employed as a consistorial councilor at the consistory in Berlin .

Karl von Westhoven was then a member of the consistory in Münster, before he was appointed senior government councilor and director of the church and school department of the Royal Prussian government in Opole on January 25, 1886 . From Opole he moved to the Royal Prussian Government of Arnsberg in the same position and with unchanged department . In 1889 he was appointed senior consistorial councilor , and at the same time he became a member of the Evangelical senior church council . On December 9, 1891, von Westhoven finally received his last promotion to consistorial president in Münster. He held this office from January 21, 1892 until his retirement on July 1, 1898. During this time he was awarded the Red Eagle Order II. Class with Oak Leaves and the Crown Order II. Class for his work .
