Karl of Mecklenburg (1626–1670)
Karl came from the Schwerin line of the Mecklenburg Princely House . He was the second eldest son of Duke Adolf Friedrich I and his wife from his first marriage with Anna Maria von Ostfriesland , daughter of Count Enno III. from East Frisia .
As a baby he was brought from Mecklenburg to Sweden with his two brothers Christian and Anna Maria because of the threat of war in Mecklenburg . He was called Canon of Strasbourg in 1666. He remained unmarried and childless.
In 1648, the Mirow Commandery was secularized and transformed into a ducal Mecklenburg administrative office based in Mirow. Probably Karl, like his brother Johann Georg , was apanaged with this property because he lived in Mirow . He died here and was also buried in Mirow.
