Karly Roestbakken (born January 17, 2001 ) is an Australian soccer player who has played in the W-League for Canberra United since 2016 and for the national team since 2019 .

Career

The 1.65 m tall player started at Canberra United in the W-League in 2016 as a 15-year-old . She made three appearances in her first season and scored her first league goal on December 10, 2016, in a 2-1 away win against Melbourne City FC . Canberra finished the regular season in first place, but then lost 1-0 in the semi-finals after extra time against Melbourne City. In her second season, she made ten appearances and scored one goal. Canberra missed the final series in fifth. Also in 2018/19 she made ten appearances and was nominated for the “NAB Young Footballer of the Year award”, but Canberra only came second to last.

National team

Roestbakken took part with the U-20 team in October 2018 in the first qualifying round for the 2019 Women's U-19 Asian Football Championship . It was used in two games. Your team qualified for the second round with three wins at the tournament in Lebanon . This took place in April 2019 in Myanmar . Here, too, the 18-year-old was used in two games. This tournament was also successfully concluded with three wins and the final round, which took place in Thailand in autumn 2019 , was reached.
