Karolína Bednářová (born July 20, 1986 in Frýdlant ) is a Czech volleyball player . After several positions in her home country, the national player, who won the Europa League in 2012, came to Aachen via the Netherlands, where she played in the Bundesliga for five years. In 2015/16 she worked in management in Düren. Then she decided to continue her career as a player in Wiesbaden.
Career
Bednářová began her career with the Czech association VK TU Liberec . After another position at SKUP Olomouc , she went to Hungary to Teva Gödöllő . With the club she played in the Challenge Cup in the 2007/08 season . She then moved to the Dutch first division club VC Weert , with whom she won the national runner-up in 2010. This made the German Bundesliga team Alemannia Aachen aware of Bednářová and signed the outside attacker. In the first two years, Aachen and the Czech took ninth and tenth places in the Bundesliga. In summer 2012 Bednářová won the European league with the Czech national team . In the following season, their club was only able to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga due to a lack of promoted players. In the 2013/14 season, however, Bednářová reached the semi-finals of the German championship with the ladies in Black Aachen; it was the greatest success in the club's history to date. A year later Bednářová stood with Aachen in the final of the DVV Cup , which was lost in the tiebreak against Allianz MTV Stuttgart . There was a sixth place in the Bundesliga. At the beginning of April 2015, the club announced that it was separating from the team captain after five years.
Bednářová then temporarily ended her professional career as a player. From July 2015 to June 2016 she worked at SWD Powervolleys Düren , where she was responsible for organizational tasks and sponsor support, while she was trained as a team manager. She also studied Business Administration at the FOM University in Aachen . Parallel to her work, Bednářová played again in the 2015/16 season with VC Weert in the third Dutch division. She made the promotion with the team. In the summer of 2016, she ended her job in Düren because she returned to the Bundesliga as a player. Since the 2016/17 season she played at 1. VC Wiesbaden , where she ended her professional career in 2019.
