Karol Adamiecki (born March 18, 1866 in Dąbrowa Górnicza ; † May 16, 1933 in Warsaw ) was a Polish metallurgist and technician in the metallurgical industry, who was one of the founders and theorists of scientific organization ( Polish organizacja naukowa ) or management and administration was.

Life

Karol Adamiecki came on March 18, 1866 as the son of the mining engineer Karol Adamiecki and Wanda, nee. Lodwigowska, in Dąbrowa Górnicza. He attended the middle school in Łódź .

In 1891 he graduated from the Petersburg Institute of Technology with the degree of technology engineer. He then worked at Zakłady Huty Bankowej in Dąbrowa Górnicza from 1891 to 1899 and then from 1899 to 1905 as the head of the rolling department in the Luhansk steelworks and as the technical director of the joint-stock company of the pipe and iron mill in Yekaterinoslav , where some plants are based on his Plans were rebuilt. During this time he was initially concerned with the technical improvement and further development of production processes. In addition, he dealt with the planning and control of group work. He developed the theory of harmonization (harmony of choice and harmony of activity), which he presented in 1903 in the technical society in Yekaterinoslav.

From 1906 to 1918 he worked as a technical consultant in several companies in Poland and Russia.

From 1919 he worked as a lecturer at the Technical University of Warsaw , where in 1922 he was appointed to the newly created Chair for Principles of Organization of Work and Industrial Enterprises.

In 1925 he became the first director and president of the Council of the Institute for Scientific Organization in Warsaw. In 1926 he became First Chairman of the Polish Committee for Scientific Organization and Vice-President of the International Committee for Scientific Organization.

In 1928 he received the Masaryk Academy of Labor Honorary Certificate for his theory of harmonization in production work. He received the Plaque d'Or at the 5th International Congress for Scientific Organization in Amsterdam . He was also awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta (Komtur) and the Order of the White Lion of Czechoslovakia .
