Karol Badyna

Karol Badyna (born February 23, 1960 in Stąporków ) is a Polish sculptor. He has been teaching at the Art Academy in Cracow since 1988 .

Badyna's works, which are mainly cast in bronze, include abstract sculptures as well as naturalistic stills and portrait busts. While much of his work is commissioned by private individuals, Badyna is best known for public contracts; These works include sculptures by Jan Karski (2002) on the campus of Georgetown University in Washington and Tel Aviv University , and a monument to Artur Rubinstein erected in 2003 in front of the UN headquarters . and a sculpture by Frédéric Chopin and George Sand in the Singapore Botanical Gardens , 2008.

Other sculptures by Badyna, mostly depicting people from contemporary history and often church dignitaries, are in Ravenna , Kobern-Gondorf , Radom , Kielce and Krakow. Badyna also designs the interiors of churches and monasteries with the staff of his Forma studio .
