Karol Martesko-Fenster (born March 12, 1961 in Vienna ) is an American entertainment and media innovator and entrepreneur who has held senior positions in the film, publishing, events, radio and internet industries.

Life

Karol Martesko-Fenster was born in Vienna, but has lived and worked in over 20 cities worldwide during his life. He is fluent in German and English. He earned a bachelor's degree in Purchase from the State University of New York and a master's degree from Columbia University specializing in entertainment law, theater management and film production.

Martesko-Fenster is the founder and chief content officer of Thought Engine Partners and the chief operating officer of Abramorama, an independent film distribution and marketing company based in New York City and Los Angeles, founded in 1983. His previous work included a position at Babel Networks, where he strategically advised numerous film and media companies, including Arts Alliance, Filmhaus Wien, T5M, Tribeca Enterprises, CINELAN and Learn Do Share. As EVP of Babel Networks US, Martesko-Fenster headed the film and animation department of the video platform Babelgum. Martesko-Fenster was previously director of the film department at Palm Pictures Entertainment Properties for Chris Blackwell and president of the associated RES Media Group.

In the mid-1990s, Martesko-Fenster co-founded and founded film websites and magazines such as the cultural magazine RES , Filmmaker , The Virtual FilmFestival and IndieWire . He founded the latter in 1996 together with Eugene Hernandez as a website for the film industry with a focus on independent films.

Martesko-Fenster is a regular speaker at media events around the world, with an emphasis on transformative entrepreneurship and the immersive, video-centric, cross-platform content offering.
