The Kars Çayı is a river in the province of Kars in the extreme northeast of Turkey .

The Kars Çayı rises in the Allahuekber Dağları mountain range in the southwest of the province. Initially it flows mainly in an easterly direction through the district and the district town of the same name, Selim . Later it turns north and flows through the provincial capital Kars . It then flows in a wide arc to the north, later to the east and finally to the southeast. It passes through the villages of Boğazköy, Harmanlı, Yolboyu, Akçalar, Karaurgan and Geçitköy. Finally, the river flows into the Arpaçay reservoir through which the Achurjan ( Arpaçay ) flows . The Kars Çayı has a length of 93 km.
