Kate O'Neill

Kate O'Neill (born July 29, 1980 ) is an American long-distance runner .

At first she focused on cross and track runs. In 2002 she was NCAA runner-up in cross-country skiing, and two years later she finished 15th in the cross-country world championships . At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she came in 21st place in the 10,000 meter run . In the same year she set her best times over 5000 m (15: 21.66 min) and 10,000 m (31: 34.37 min).

After two years with almost no competitions, she turned to road running in 2007 . First she was US runner-up in the half marathon with a time of 1:11:47 h and started in the fall of the Chicago Marathon , where she was third in 2:36:15 h in extreme heat.

In 2008 she won the national half marathon title in 1:11:57 h.

Kate O'Neill is 1.63 m tall and weighs 49 kg. She is part of the Running USA team. In 2003 she graduated from Yale University with a degree in history. Her twin sister Laura is also a talented long-distance runner who also studied at Yale.
