Katharina Liebsch

Katharina Liebsch (born January 1, 1962 in Hamburg ) is a German sociologist . She is a professor at the Helmut Schmidt University .

Life

From 1982 to 1988 Liebisch studied German, geography and educational science at the University of Hamburg ( state examination in 1988). In 1989/90 she was a research fellow of the Carl Duisberg Society in India. In 1993 she was at the University of Osnabrueck to Dr. phil. PhD.

In 1994 she was a visiting lecturer at the University of Florida and in 1997 a visiting scholar at Smith College . 2000 habilitation they are at the University of Hamburg. In 2000/01 she worked at the University of Essen . From 2001 to 2003 she was professor of sociology at the Pedagogical University of Weingarten (where the Center for Political Education was founded ) and then, with a focus on family and youth sociology, at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . Since 2010 she has been professor of sociology with special emphasis on microsociology at the Helmut Schmidt University of the German Armed Forces in Hamburg and has been the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences there since 2015.

From 2005 to 2010 she was director of the Cornelia Goethe Center for Women's Studies and Research on Gender Relations at Frankfurt University. Since 2010 she has been a member of the Section Council of the Women's and Gender Studies Section in the German Society for Sociology (second spokesperson from 2012 to 2014). In addition, she has been a visiting scholar at the Sigmund Freud Institute in Frankfurt am Main since 2008 .
